I’m Dave Whitehouse, General Manager for Red’s Shoe Barn, and I’m proud to announce our new website at

You’ll be able to see what different styles and brand names of shoes, boots, sneakers,and apparel we have in stock, and why you should come visit one of our convenient locations.

We stock thousands of pair of brand name footwear in our Dover NH and Plaistow NH locations, all at everyday low prices.

And, based on your feedback, we intend to update this blog regularly with special offers on shoes, closeout shoes, breaking news, and tips on getting the proper type and size shoes for you.

Even special or uncommon sizes and widths, or foot conditions like plantar fasciitus, bunions, or special considerations for diabetics.

    I love Red’s shoe barn my aunt lived in Dover as a kid when I visited we used to go to Red’s in the late 70’s onto the early 80’s. Nice to see that a family store has manged to stay alive in the times of Walmart and such. Keep doing whatever you are doing!

    We love doing business with a local company, and Red’s really embodies everything great about a small, local business. We had a problem with some shoes and when the manufacturer wouldn’t help us out Red’s stepped up to the plate and took care of the problem. They carry all our favorite brands and have the best customer service anywhere, so there’s really no reason to go anywhere else. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

    Went to Reds because my foot doctor suggested it and I got small discount and then became a regular customer. Great service and a good selection of mens shoes.

    We need you child’s help! We got a new dog in the children’s department at our Dover store and it doesn’t have a name! Please bring your children in to help us name it. Have your child fill out an entry form at the top of our department stairs and they will be entered for a chance to win a gift card to Red’s Shoe Barn.(please include name and telephone number so we can contact the winner)The winner will be chosen on December 21st.     glad to see a website. I’ve been shopping at Reds since i was a kid, and my parents before me…always find what i need and always the best prices. that equals value, thats what brings me back time and again. i would like to ask about plans for the website to show styles in stock so i can shop on line and make a decision before i come in?

    Thank you for your comments. That is a fair request. However, we do not have our inventory automated, which makes it impossible to list it online. Please feel free to call or email for any specific questions about a style or size. We will be happy to check and confirm prior to your visit.

    I love Reds and it has always been a family tradition to stop at your store every summer on our yearly treck from Florida. Unfortunately, I am being relocated to Minnesota this year so I have no idea when I will be able to see N.H. again. But I would still like to keep Reds in the Family. Is there anyway you can send me a list of the Ladies Ugg Boots with a 1 inch heel or less you have in stock and their prices. sizes 7 or 8. Perhaps at least this way I can Order?

    We just visited Red’s Shoe Barn this afternoon. My husband got two pairs of boots and I found a nice pair of Clarks. GREAT service and selection. Thanks to Heather, I appreciated all of your help.

    I love Red’s! I live in Haverhill, Mass, 10 minutes from your Plaistow store. The manager of the store, Scott, is wonderful! He reminds me of what customer service used to be like when I was a kid. He goes out of his way to make the customer happy. He bent over backwards for me a few years ago to track down a style that I loved and you didn’t have in your store.

    Love your selection of hight quality shoes, too. Your prices are generally lower than comparable retail shoe stores as well. Love the price, love the service, love the selection!

    My friend and I had been to several shoe stores in search of a pair of shoes that I could walk in comfortably, with no luck, until Red’s. Due to neuropathy from chemo, my toes did not like being confined, plus I have a high instep. I was very fortunate to have sales associate Rita come to my rescue. Rita went upstairs and down in search of the right shoe, and after many tries she found it! She was not only efficient but extremely pleasant, making our first visit very enjoyable. We’ll be back!

    Got sells card in the mail. Reminded me of day about 65 yr. ago. The bread man came to the house selling bread and gave me a 4 inch lollypop on my birthday. Never had seen one before. He was very popular with the kids on his route. Red lived the American dream he was a very nice man.

    I had a wonderful experience at the store in Dover today. Shannon was very helpful and went out of her way to find shoes to fit very hard to fit feet. Thank you to the staff.

    Drove 1 hour to Red’s, because after talking on the phone I was reassured they would be able to help me find a XXwide boot. After 2 hours and having sales person run back and forth from stockroom to floor. I tried on 6 different boots that didn’t even come close to what I needed. Sure they have lots of brands but very limited to styles and sizes, so my advise if you have problem feet go somewhere else. They couldn’t even order what I wanted in a brand they carry ! Total waste of my time.

      I am sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at our store recently.
      While we are at an all time low level of inventory on winter boots
      because of record breaking snow – that is no excuse for our clerk to have you
      come into the store unless she checked inventory on the WW width styles first.
      For that I apologize.
      I would ask that in the future you give us another try because of the fact
      that most of our hard-to-fit customers leave our store with a good fitting pair of shoes.
      If you feel we are worth another try, please call and ask for me, Tim Winters, store manager
      and I will do all that I can to make sure you have a much better experience here at Red’s Shoe Barn.
